Hello, and welcome to my website! I created this space to have one central site in which to feature my books.
I have a keen interest in the written word, cultures of eras long past, and the unique way media of these eras tend to reveal aspects of ourselves that few other phenomena can. I graduated with a PhD in journalism and mass communication from the University of Georgia in 2019. My dissertation, The Forgotten Children of Bath: Media and Memory of the Bath School Bombing of 1927, won the 2020 Margaret A. Blanchard Dissertation Prize, an award given annually by the American Journalism Historians Association (AJHA) for the best doctoral dissertation dealing with mass communication history. I have since edited this work into a paperback book, released on November 24, 2021. It will be the first work featured on this site, with more to follow. Appreciate you visiting.
To read more about how the press covered the Bath School tragedy in 1927, please see the following article I wrote for Michigan History magazine: September/October 2024 by Historical Society of Michigan - Issuu.
I was honored to participate in a Q & A session with AJHA about my research. You may read the interview here:
